Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support patient care plans by administering medications under supervision, managing catheter care, and assisting with wound care following aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort in memory or behavioral health units.
- Assist with medical procedures including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic life support during emergencies.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to protect patient privacy and ensure accurate records.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU and Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic patient care procedures.
- Experience providing care for patients with complex needs including infectious disease management, hospice care, acute or sub-acute conditions, and behavioral health issues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting (Hoyer lift), repositioning patients, and assisting with mobility while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving; ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or specialized pediatric/geriatrics training are a plus.
