Certified Nursing Assistant

In this vital role, you will provide essential support to healthcare professionals by delivering high-quality patient care across various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks
  • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory impairments through tailored approaches in memory and behavioral health settings
  • Assist with catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy procedures, and aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards
  • Support emergency situations by applying basic life support (BLS), responding to urgent care needs, and utilizing skills in acute or trauma care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU settings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, or community-based programs to deliver holistic patient service and ensure optimal health outcomes

Skills

  • Proven experience working with diverse populations including seniors, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols including HIPAA compliance
  • Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or hospital medicine units
  • Skilled in using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and managing complex care needs like dementia or Alzheimer's care
  • Strong caregiving skills demonstrated through experience in long-term care facilities like nursing homes or assisted living communities
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team in settings requiring acute care expertise such as ICU or Level II trauma centers
