Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as memory or dementia care. This role involves supporting medical teams in delivering safe, effective, and empathetic care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and documentation standards.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring proper documentation of all procedures.
- Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, or behavioral health conditions.
- Assist in medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques during clinical tasks.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, long-term care, hospice, or outpatient settings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge instructions when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Utilize medical terminology proficiently for accurate documentation and communication within healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant certification in accordance with state regulations.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers, PICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and patient safety protocols including basic life support certification.
- Familiarity with specialized care areas such as Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care, behavioral health, pediatric (including PICU), geriatrics, or post-acute care is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with patients who have disabilities or complex medical needs such as infectious disease management or acute trauma cases.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work compassionately with patients of all ages and backgrounds while maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
