Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques in various clinical environments like outpatient clinics or inpatient units.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, contributing to patient safety and comfort during complex treatments.
• Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by delivering personalized caregiving that promotes independence and dignity.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
• Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (ICU, emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique.
• Ability to perform vital sign measurements accurately and support medication administration safely.
• Experience caring for individuals with dementia or memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease or behavioral health challenges is preferred.
• Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate attitude to deliver patient-centered care across all age groups—including pediatrics and geriatrics—while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
