Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
  • Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
  • Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support
  • Help with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support during emergencies in high-acuity environments like Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units
  • Maintain infection control standards by practicing strict aseptic techniques and adhering to hospital protocols for infectious disease care and acute care settings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home & community care programs to deliver comprehensive patient-centered services

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current licensure in the relevant state or region
  • Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level II trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or hospice settings
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety protocols including basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Prior experience providing care for patients with complex needs such as behavioral health issues, developmental disabilities, or post-acute recovery
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving patient lifting using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment while maintaining proper body mechanics
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
