Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
  • Assist with complex clinical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy, wound dressing changes, and infection control practices in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, contributing to patient care plans in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or surgical units.
  • Support patients in outpatient clinics or home & community care settings by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs.
  • Operate EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Homecare Homebase efficiently for accurate documentation of patient service activities.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and proper use of equipment like Hoyer lifts and DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
  • Communicate effectively with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and their families to ensure understanding of care procedures and comfort measures.

Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience working as a CNA or similar caregiving role within diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics. Experience in critical areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), or post-acute care is highly valued. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical-surgical procedures, geriatrics, behavioral health interventions—including dementia and Alzheimer's care—and working with individuals with disabilities is essential. Additional preferred qualifications include proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with phlebotomy; knowledge of HIPAA compliance; and competence in handling complex clinical tasks such as medication administration and aseptic techniques.
