Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, using appropriate medical equipment.
- Support clinical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks such as catheter care, wound care, and medication administration under supervision.
- Document patient information clearly and thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient conditions closely, report changes promptly to nursing staff, and assist in emergency response situations utilizing basic life support skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during patient interactions.
- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs, providing compassionate support tailored to each patient's unique requirements.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic medical procedures such as phlebotomy or catheter care is advantageous.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner enhances your ability to document patient care efficiently.
- Exposure to specialized care areas including ICU, trauma centers (Level I or II), hospice, geriatrics, dementia/memory care units or pediatric settings is beneficial.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques relevant to acute and post-acute care environments is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children, seniors, individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges demonstrates your versatility as a caregiver.
