Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using medical documentation systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Support patient care by administering medications under supervision, managing catheter care, and performing basic medical procedures like phlebotomy when qualified.
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper hand hygiene practices to prevent infectious disease transmission.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, critical care, ICU, emergency medicine, or behavioral health settings to deliver comprehensive patient support.
- Document patient information meticulously in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Assist with specialized care needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS).
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate documentation.
- Prior experience with patient service tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration (if qualified), and use of medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and demonstrate excellent caregiving skills.
