Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately using medical documentation systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Support patient care by administering medications under supervision, managing catheter care, and performing basic medical procedures like phlebotomy when qualified.
• Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper hand hygiene practices to prevent infectious disease transmission.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, critical care, ICU, emergency medicine, or behavioral health settings to deliver comprehensive patient support.
• Document patient information meticulously in medical records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
• Assist with specialized care needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
• Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS).
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate documentation.
• Prior experience with patient service tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration (if qualified), and use of medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or DME (Durable Medical Equipment).
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and demonstrate excellent caregiving skills.
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient interactions across various clinical settings.
