Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist patients in their daily activities, ensuring a high standard of care. Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, including catheter care, NG feeding and medication reminders.
- Support patients with mobility needs using equipment like wheel chair and Hoyer lifts.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Document patient information accurately in according to the template given.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress.
- Assist in transporting patients to their doctor’s appointments as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills in areas such as dementia care, first aid certification, and critical care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Georgia CNA or PCA or HHA training program preferred.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Personal Care Assistant is highly desirable.
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or in-home care settings is preferred; familiarity with geriatrics or pediatrics is a plus.
- Knowledge of First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) is essential.
- Proficiency in medical documentation is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
