Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support our Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) team in a PRN role.

Certified Nursing Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
  • Support mobility, transfers, and positioning of patients
  • Assist with equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and bedside care tools
  • Ensure patient comfort, safety, and dignity at all times
  • Maintain clean, organized patient care environments
  • Perform basic clerical or support functions as needed
  • Communicate effectively with nurses and care team members
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required (or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Previous clinical or patient care experience preferred
  • Ability to safely assist patients with lifting and mobility needs
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
