Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, ensuring their safety and comfort through memory care techniques.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and wound management to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs, including those in hospice or behavioral health settings.
- Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or basic life support in emergency situations within acute or ICU environments.
- Document patient information thoroughly in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Support patients across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, home care visits, or assisted living facilities.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification from an accredited program with current licensure in the state of employment.
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living, or home care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy and safety.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges while demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Critical care experience such as ICU or Level II trauma center background is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and family members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or urgent care settings.
