Job Title: Nursing Assistant
As a Hospice Nursing Assistant, PRN Weekdays, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to patients in various healthcare settings. What you’ll do
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Support patients with mobility needs, utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and needs.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.
- Assist with medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff.
Basic qualifications
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy/physiology.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in critical care or acute care environments such as hospitals or nursing homes.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Background in geriatrics, dementia care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Skills in phlebotomy, catheter care, or other specialized medical procedures.
