Job Title: Nursing Assistant

As a Hospice Nursing Assistant, PRN Weekdays, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to patients in various healthcare settings. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for individuals, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance they need. What you’ll do

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Support patients with mobility needs, utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and needs.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.
• Assist with medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff.

Basic qualifications

• Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy/physiology.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in critical care or acute care environments such as hospitals or nursing homes.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
• Background in geriatrics, dementia care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Skills in phlebotomy, catheter care, or other specialized medical procedures.
