Duties

  • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
  • Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and temperature, ensuring precise medical documentation.
  • Administer medications and treatments following prescribed orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
  • Support specialized care needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice support, and behavioral health interventions.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to implement patient care plans using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for seamless documentation.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures when required and assist with medical-surgical procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Engage with patients of all ages—including pediatrics and geriatrics—delivering compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs.
  • Support emergency response efforts by providing basic life support (BLS) and assisting in acute or trauma situations such as Level I Trauma Center or ICU environments.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as assisted living or nursing homes is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation.
  • Experience in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU, PICU), outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, or post-acute care environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to geriatrics, pediatrics, infectious disease care, and behavioral health enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive patient service.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or Level II trauma center work is a strong asset for this role.
  • Familiarity with specialized procedures like catheter care, aseptic technique, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous.
