Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Certified Orthotic Fitter to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service by fitting, adjusting, and delivering custom orthotic devices that enhance mobility and improve quality of life. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology will ensure each patient receives personalized care that meets their unique needs. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient intake assessments to understand individual needs and medical history
- Measure, fit, and adjust orthotic devices accurately based on patient-specific requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for proper documentation and billing
- Educate patients on proper use, care, and maintenance of their orthotic devices to promote optimal outcomes
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques during fittings to ensure patient safety and hygiene standards are upheld
- Document all patient interactions, device specifications, and treatment plans thoroughly in medical records
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to anatomy knowledge, physiology, and medical procedures
Experience
- Proven experience as an Orthotic Fitter or similar role within a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to orthotic fitting and patient care
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD coding practices for accurate documentation
- Experience conducting intake assessments and providing exceptional patient service
- Ability to demonstrate aseptic techniques consistently during device fittings
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and support patients throughout their treatment process
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical procedures related to orthotics is highly desirable
