Job Overview

Dragonetti Brothers is seeking a NYS Pesticide Technician to perform Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) treatments on street and park trees throughout Queens and Brooklyn.

This position involves chemical trunk injections, tree care operations, and working as part of a professional municipal forestry crew. Ideal candidates have arboriculture experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced field environment.

The contract term for this work spans multiple seasons.

Pesticide Technician Responsibilities

• Perform trunk injections for Emerald Ash Borer treatment on ash trees
• Operate injection equipment safely and accurately
• Follow work orders, schedules, and productivity requirements
• Maintain daily production records and treatment documentation
• Set up safe work zones (cones, signage, pedestrian/traffic awareness)

Pesticide Technician / Pesticide Applicator Requirements

• NYS DEC Certified Commercial Pesticide Technician CATEGORY 3A (or Applicator)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions throughout Queens

Pesticide Technician / Pesticide Applicator Preferred

• Experience with trunk injection systems (Arborjet, Wedgle, etc.)

Schedule

• Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays as needed)

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
