Job Summary

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, utilizing your LTC pharmacy background and medical terminology skills to improve patient outcomes through meticulous medication preparation and patient service. Hours are Monday thru Friday 9am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile IV medications with strict adherence to aseptic techniques, ensuring medication safety and integrity.
• Assist in medication intake and verification processes, accurately documenting all pharmacy activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care through precise medication administration and infusion therapy.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, including critical care standards and LTC pharmacy guidelines.
• Monitor medication inventory levels, restocking supplies as needed to support continuous patient treatment.
• Follow all safety procedures related to medication handling, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Document all compounding activities thoroughly, including batch records and quality control checks.

Skills

• Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or acute care settings with a focus on IV infusion preparation.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
• Demonstrated expertise in aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures.
• Critical care experience is highly desirable, with the ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments.
• Knowledge of pharmacy technician responsibilities, including intake procedures and medication documentation.
