Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and hospital environments. This role is essential in providing excellent patient service and ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Duties

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
• Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed professionals.
• Conduct intake processes for new patients, ensuring accurate documentation of medical histories and medication profiles.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare staff and patients regarding medication-related inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory levels, and controlled substances.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and educating patients about their medications.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings to optimize patient outcomes through effective medication management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and pharmacy policies.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
• Familiarity with IV infusion procedures and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
