Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and hospital environments. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
- Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Conduct intake processes for new patients, ensuring accurate documentation of medical histories and medication profiles.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare staff and patients regarding medication-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory levels, and controlled substances.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and educating patients about their medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings to optimize patient outcomes through effective medication management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and pharmacy policies.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Familiarity with IV infusion procedures and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
