Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients in a hospital or acute care setting. Your expertise in medication preparation and patient support will contribute significantly to the well-being of our patients.

Duties

• Must know PrimeRx [Micro Merchant Systems] Software.
• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Assist in managing medication inventory, including ordering and restocking supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols when preparing and handling medications.
• Utilize aseptic techniques for IV infusion preparation and other sterile compounding processes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care and critical care initiatives.
• Provide patients with information on medication use, potential side effects, and proper storage when appropriate.
• Stay updated on medical terminology and pharmacy best practices to enhance service delivery.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a hospital or acute care environment.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
• Proficiency in medication preparation techniques, including IV infusion processes.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and safety protocols in medication preparation.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong critical thinking skills to assess situations and provide appropriate solutions.
