Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Manage medication intake processes, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring proper documentation for LTC pharmacy and hospital units
- Assist with patient service activities such as answering medication questions, providing medication counseling, and supporting patient care initiatives
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and IV infusion preparation to ensure patient safety
- Support pharmacy operations by managing inventory levels, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of medications according to regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medication administration and optimize patient outcomes in hospital or LTC environments
- Document all pharmacy activities thoroughly, including medication dispensing records, incident reports, and compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; state licensure or registration required where applicable
- Proven experience working in pharmacy or hospital settings with exposure to critical care environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication safety protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding procedures
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and attention to detail
- Familiarity with medication administration processes within acute care or hospital settings
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and compliance
