We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Aventura location.
A MedFlorida Pharmacy Technician is responsible for ensuring the availability of medication and delivering medications accurately and efficiently to patients. Pharmacy Technicians duties include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Verify patient health, insurance and scan all documents into the patient’s chart.
- Check Insurance eligibility and RX benefits.
- Answer high volume of incoming calls, and answers inquires and return messages to patients, medical practices, and physicians.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
- Supporting pharmacological services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications.
- Maintaining records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders of Physicians.
- Sorting, stocking and labeling medications and monitoring inventory.
- Responding to the requests of patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions, and referring various inquiries to the Pharmacist.
- Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
- Processing prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
Additional Duties
- Communicate and work regularly with the Pharmacist and the office staff.
- Perform job responsibilities with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Move, carry, and lift objects weighing less than 20lbs without assistance.
- Abide by all compliance regulations including but not limited to HIPAA and OSHA
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Bilingual Spanish is required
- Demonstrate customer service skills.
- Liberty software experience preferred
