As a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), you will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensuring compliance with payer regulations and industry standards. Your work will play a vital role in improving claim accuracy, reducing denials, and maximizing reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure coding complies with AAPC guidelines, CMS regulations, and payer-specific requirements.
- Analyze clinical documentation to support code selection and identify documentation deficiencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, billing teams, and RCM staff to resolve coding-related issues.
- Assist in reducing coding errors, claim denials, and reimbursement delays.
- Maintain coding quality, productivity, and accuracy standards.
- Stay updated on coding changes, payer policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in internal audits and quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification from AAPC (Mandatory).
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience (US Healthcare preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical billing software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets.
