Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

As our client portfolio grows, we are seeking a licensed CPA to join our team as a strategic partner to founders and business owners. This is not a traditional compliance-heavy role. You will work directly with business owners to ensure accurate books and translate financials into clear, actionable insights.

Core Responsibilities

• Review and approve bookkeeping work to ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal quality benchmarks
• Serve as a strategic advisor to clients on accounting and finance-related decisions
• Generate and present monthly and annual financial reports with clear insights and recommendations
• Identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements proactively
• Coach and train junior teammates
• Assist with onboarding new clients and establishing clean financial systems
• Collaborate effectively using Asana, Google Drive, and cloud-based accounting platforms

Expected Availability

This is a contract role beginning at approximately 10 hours per month, with the opportunity to ramp up to full time as our client base expands.

You must be available for:

• A biweekly internal team meeting
• Client meetings as needed

Work is fully remote and schedule-flexible, with ownership of your deliverables expected.

Requirements

• Active CPA license (U.S.)
• 5+ years of experience working directly with small to mid-sized businesses
• Experience advising founders or business owners (not solely historic bookkeeping)
• Strong ability to translate financial data into strategic insight
• Clear, confident communicator
• Highly organized and self-directed

Bonus Qualifications

• Startup or high-growth company experience
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Wave, or similar platforms
• Experience using Asana and Google Drive

This role is best suited for a CPA who enjoys building clean systems from messy beginnings and thrives in a self-directed, high-ownership environment without micromanagement.
