Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Real Estate Appraiser to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to gather essential data for appraisal reports
- Analyze market trends, comparable sales, property conditions, and economic factors to establish accurate property values
- Prepare detailed appraisal reports that clearly communicate findings, methodologies, and valuation conclusions in accordance with industry standards
- Ensure all appraisals adhere to relevant regulations such as the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and Fair Housing laws
- Utilize financial analysis tools and software to support valuation processes and generate comprehensive reports
- Collect and interpret data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other data collection technologies for precise location-based analysis
- Collaborate with clients, lenders, government agencies, and other stakeholders to provide expert opinions on property values while maintaining transparency and professionalism
Skills
- Strong understanding of real estate appraisal principles, including valuation methods such as sales comparison, cost approach, and income capitalization
- Proficiency in financial concepts related to real estate investment analysis and tax assessment processes
- Experience with accounting practices relevant to property valuation and financial reporting
- Knowledge of construction processes and materials that influence property value assessments
- Ability to conduct quantitative research and analyze large datasets effectively using financial software tools
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and their impact on property valuation
- Excellent math skills for precise calculations and data interpretation
- Awareness of Fair Housing regulations to ensure compliance in all appraisal activities
- Experience with tax assessment procedures and related financial concepts is a plus
