Certified Registered Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Certified Registered Dental Assistant to support our clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care using 4-handed dentistry techniques. Assist dental hygienist during patient care when needed. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive and able to anticipate the needs of the dentist/hygienist to ensure efficient and comfortable procedures for patients, in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during procedures using 4-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after procedures.
  • Set up treatment rooms according to procedure requirements
  • Maintain clear visibility of the treatment area using suction and retraction, manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Denticon, while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality.
  • Anticipate the dentist's needs during procedures and pass instruments efficiently Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required. Provide chairside support for procedures such as fillings, crowns, extractions, implants, root canals and dental prosthetics
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records efficiently. Assist hygienist as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical notes
  • Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas adhere to OSHA standards for safety and cleanliness.
  • Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed Assist with medical imaging procedures and record accurate medical coding for billing purposes when necessary.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and managing dental terminology.
  • Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
  • Skilled in operating dental X-ray equipment and 3D scanners with precision for diagnostic purposes.
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices to create a welcoming environment for young patients.
  • Strong understanding of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages using clear dental and medical terminology.
  • Background in general dentistry with additional experience in prosthodontics or endodontics preferred.
  • Capable of handling administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records management. Pay: $27.37 - $32.96 per hour

Experience:

  • Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) (Preferred)
