Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, medical terminology, and administrative support. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist healthcare professionals in delivering efficient and compassionate medical services.
Duties
- Perform patient intake procedures, including obtaining vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist with the administration of medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Utilize EHR systems to document patient information accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and assist with X-ray procedures when necessary.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding.
- Experience in hospital medicine or urgent care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications in advanced life support are a plus.
- Previous experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform intake assessments and accurately measure vital signs.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient service best practices.
- Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is an advantage.
