Certified Welder/Fitter

WinterSky has an upcoming structural and miscellaneous metals project requiring an experienced field welder and fitter. All work is performed on the jobsite; this is not a shop position. The project duration is approximately 3 to 6 months.

Work scope includes field layout, fit-up, welding, and installation of structural steel (beams, columns, embeds, connections) along with miscellaneous metals (railings, stairs, brackets, plates, ornamental). The primary process is FCAW from an engine-driven welder on site.

Requirements

• Current WABO certification in FCAW, all positions (3G and 4G), to AWS D1.1. Verifiable card and continuity log required.
• Minimum two years of field welding and fitting experience on structural or miscellaneous metals.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, erection drawings, and weld symbols.
• Reliable personal transportation to the jobsite. Travel and per diem are not provided.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in Pacific Northwest conditions.
• Pre-employment drug screen required. This is a safety-sensitive construction position.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

D1.8 seismic certification is a plus but not required for this scope. Unlimited thickness qualification preferred.

Tools and Equipment

WinterSky provides all welding equipment, leads, gas, wire, grinders, and rigging on site. Applicants are expected to bring their own hood, gloves, boots, and personal PPE.
