CFO/Business Manager

<Overview>
The Vanguard School seeks a full-time CFO/Business Manager to begin in May or June 2026. Vanguard is an independent, co-educational boarding/day school serving 110 students in grades six through twelve, located in Lake Wales, Florida.

The CFO/Business Manager will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all aspects of Vanguard's financial operations. The CFO/Business Manager will be a member of the School’s senior leadership team, report directly to the Head of School (HOS), work closely with the Vanguard Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board, and support the institution's long-term strategic and financial planning. The CFO/Business Manager will ensure institutional integrity on fiscal matters by promoting best practices in finance. The Business Manager will also oversee facilities, HR, maintenance, and school operations. A detailed job description will be shared during the interview process.

In addition to financial expertise, the successful candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal skills when working with faculty, staff, and school families, as well as a spirit of collaboration with all school constituencies. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting. A strong understanding of complex financial instruments and proven experience developing financial strategies that support strategic priorities are essential.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
