Summary of Job Description:
The Senior Project Designer contributes to design efforts across the CFT real estate development portfolio. This position ensures that design solutions are innovative, cost-effective, and buildable. The Senior Project Designer collaborates with internal development teams, external architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure project goals are met from feasibility through construction completion. As a key liaison between internal teams, architects, consultants, and contractors, this position is responsible for ensuring that design work supports the project’s financial, functional, aesthetic, and schedule goals. The Senior Project Designer is also responsible for compiling presentations for design concepts and strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, budget, and timeline.

Assists in management of design process from concept through construction for multiple projects (e.g., multifamily, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality), ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative design solutions.

Collaborates closely with development, construction, and asset management teams to evaluate feasibility, site planning, and design strategies. Works with the development team to maintain design solutions within budget constraints and project timelines.

Contributes to site planning, zoning analysis, feasibility studies, and entitlements. Ensures that all designs meet regulatory requirements and align with the overall development vision.

Works with third-party design consultants, including architects, engineers, and other specialists, to ensure deliverables meet quality, timing, and budget expectations. Reviews and coordinates consultant drawings and specifications to ensure consistency with project goals, code compliance, and development standards.

Provides architectural expertise during all phases, including concept, entitlement, design development, construction documentation, and administration. Participates in product design decisions such as unit layouts, material selections, and building systems integration.

Coordinates with local authorities, permitting agencies, and other relevant parties to ensure project approvals are received in a timely manner. Prepares documents to facilitate discussions with city agencies and planning boards as needed.

Reviews Tenant designs and drawings to ensure alignment with project standards and guidelines. Works with management company in providing base building updates as necessary.
- Prepares presentation documents for design concepts, progress updates, and final plans to the leadership team and effectively communicates design intent, key decisions, and project status. Tailors presentations to meet the needs and concerns of senior leadership, ensuring their confidence in design direction and alignment with strategic goals.

Your background and experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required
-
Minimum five years of experience in architecture, construction, or development

Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.

Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Pay Range: P3: $90,000-$126,500 per year
- Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
