Essential Functions
-
Responsible for accurate entry of physician charges
-
Maintains and knowledgeable of all procedural and diagnostic codes which includes identifying appropriate codes and informing staff when services are coded incorrectly.

Works with staff to resolve coding issues and associated problems.
-
Responsible for balancing charges daily.
-
Responsible for posting of payments collected by office or department.
-
Participates in educational activities.
-
Maintains strictest confidentiality.
-
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
-
Enter data accurately.

Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.

Excellent Customer Service skills working effectively with patients and co-workers.

Must be well organized and detail organized and be able to work independently without much supervision.

Must demonstrate current competencies applicable for the position such as typing or data entry.

Knowledge of clinic/medical practice procedures related to all medical operations.

Knowledge of phone system, copiers and fax machines.

Knowledge of ICD & CPT .

Must be capable of screening and directing calls in courteous and expeditious manner.

Must be skilled in customer service and have a pleasant and courteous demeanor while dealing with all callers and must be able to effectively serve as a clinic liaison.

Must be able to respond to stressful or emergency situations in a calm and effective manner.

Must have the ability to work cooperatively as a member of office staff and team.
Mental/Physical Requirements
Mostly sedentary with some standing, walking, reaching.

Daily and repetitive data entry.

Periodic stress from handling many calls and patient requests.

Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds.
