Charge Nurse Leader Shift Supervisor & Unit Mentorship
- Provides professional leadership and supervises nursing staff throughout the shift.
- Acts as a role model, mentor, and resource for clinical and administrative guidance.
- Ensures safe staffing levels and appropriate patient to nurse ratios based on acuity.
- Supports staff in clinical decision making, conflict resolution, and prioritization of workload.
- Provides constructive feedback, coaching, and performance support to the team.
- Leads the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Practices within regulatory scope and adheres to DOH and organizational policies.
- Supports competency development and education for junior staff and new hires.
- Maintains mandatory and medical unit-specific competencies.
- Participates in clinical audits, research, and evidence based initiatives.
- Demonstrates ongoing development in leadership and medical-unit management.
