Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Checks Processor to join our administrative team. This individual will be responsible for receiving, processing, tracking, and depositing insurance settlement checks. The Checks Processor will work closely with our team, clients, restoration companies, mold assessment companies, and public adjusters to ensure timely and accurate handling of all funds related to our clients' cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and log incoming insurance checks into the firm’s case management system.
  • Verify check amounts against settlement agreements and related case documents.
  • Ensure compliance with trust account (IOLTA) requirements and firm accounting policies.
  • Prepare and process deposits in coordination with the accounting team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Provide updates to service providers and referral sources.
  • Assist with preparing disbursement statements and client settlement distributions.
  • Protect confidential financial and client information at all times.
  • Perform additional administrative and accounting support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working for public adjusters, restoration companies, mold assessors, or law firms.
  • Experience with mortgage companies
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with trust accounting and/or IOLTA compliance a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with legal case management or accounting software preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.74 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
