Cheese Production Operator (3rd Shift)

Makeroom Operator (3rd Shift) – Burnett Dairy Cooperative (Grantsburg, WI)

Burnett Dairy Cooperative is hiring a Makeroom Operator to support cheese production in our dairy facility. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in maintaining consistent quality throughout the cheesemaking process.

Shift & Pay:
3rd Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Rotating 4-3-3 schedule
$21.50/hour

What You’ll Do:
Assist in the production of cheese by supporting cheesemakers throughout the process
Monitor equipment and production flow during the shift
Track and record pH, acid, and moisture levels
Monitor cooker temperatures and cheese movement
Perform production tasks such as knitting, milling, mixing, and boxing cheese
Transport carts and equipment as needed
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures
Complete general housekeeping and cleaning duties

Work Environment:
Fast-paced production setting
Hot, humid, and damp conditions
Combination of team-based and independent work
Continuous movement throughout the shift

Ability to stay focused in a physically demanding environment

Physical Requirements:
Continuous standing and walking
Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting
Frequent use of hands for handling and fine motor tasks
Regular lifting of 20–30 lbs, occasionally up to 60+ lbs
Ability to work in hot and humid conditions
