JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  Chef

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1.   Perform food production and presentation to all internal and external customers,

2.   make sure that the food is produced as per the standard recipe consistently.

3.   Supervise, direct and participate where necessary in the preparation cooking of all food items, check quality of food and portion of food before being sent to customers to ensure consistency in food quality.

4.   Check all food use by dates to ensure no products is exceeded than the requirements, ensure that over/under preparation of production of food is kept to a minimum to maintain food cost.

5.   Check on every working place of cooks and utilities, including storing areas, fridges and dust bins in all production areas for cleanliness and food cost.

6.   Plan food production in line with demands and concept, ensuring that through the process of batch cooking that food items remain fresh, appealing and presentable.

7.   Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that food quality standards are met at all time.

8.   Assist in determining how food should be presented and create decorative food displays to ensure our food presentation is very attractive to customers.

9.   Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve menus and contribute to increase of the sales.

10. Ensure the consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to property recipes and standards.

11. Ensure all kitchen colleagues are aware of standards & expectations.

12. Maintain and enhance the food products through creative menu development and presentation

13. Coordinates with F&B Manager and steward for emergency requirements.

14. Train staff and making staff training plan, reviews the performance and development of the staff.

15. Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products and keep record documented.

16. Follow the company rules and regulation and follow the food standards and HACCP in order to provide safe food to guests.

17. Follow the company fire procedures, security procedures, health and safety and company policies.

3-   Comply with time and attendance policies set by the company 

4-   Actively participate in training and development program and maximize opportunity for self-development

5-   Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all procedures for health, Hygiene and fire life and safety

6-   Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures

7-   Comply with company code of conduct

8-   Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor

9-   Ensure all incidents, accidents are logged in and brought to your superior .
