Job Summary
NANOSKIN Car Care Products is looking for an experienced Chemical Blender / Compounder to join our manufacturing team in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
This position is responsible for blending, compounding, pumping, gravity feeding, and transferring chemical products into specific containers in predetermined quantities. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in chemical blending, HazMat handling, warehouse manufacturing, and forklift operation.
Responsibilities
- Follow batch sheets, formulas, production orders, and supervisor instructions accurately.
- Weigh, measure, mix, blend, and compound raw materials according to approved procedures.
- Pump and gravity feed chemicals into specific containers in predetermined quantities.
- Operate pumps, hoses, valves, scales, mixers, tanks, and other production equipment safely.
- Operate forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up/reach equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Transfer finished products into totes, drums, containers, tanks, or filling lines.
- Handle chemical materials safely and follow HazMat procedures when required.
- Read and follow SDS, safety labels, and company safety guidelines.
- Perform basic quality checks, including appearance, weight, pH, viscosity, odor, color, or other checks as needed.
- Label, stage, and organize raw materials, finished goods, and production containers.
- Maintain accurate batch records, production logs, and material usage documentation.
- Keep blending, production, and warehouse areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Report equipment issues, spills, shortages, safety concerns, or quality issues to management immediately.
- Assist with warehouse, inventory, material handling, and production tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing warehouse experience: 2 years required
- Forklift experience required, including sit-down and stand-up/reach forklift operation
- Must be able to pass forklift certification and safely operate a forklift
- DOT / HazMat Chemical Blender experience: 1 year (highly preferred)
- Previous experience as a chemical blender, compounder, batch maker, mixer operator, production associate, or manufacturing operator preferred.
- HazMat experience preferred.
- Experience with liquids, chemicals, cleaners, waxes, soaps, polishes, automotive detailing products, or similar products is a plus.
- Able to read and follow written batch instructions in English.
- Basic math skills required for weighing, measuring, and recording quantities.
- Comfortable operating pumps, hoses, valves, scales, drums, totes, containers, tanks, and related equipment.
- Must be dependable, safety-minded, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and move materials throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working around chemical raw materials, fragrances, cleaning agents, and production equipment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and other protective equipment.
- Must be able to safely operate heavy equipment and production equipment, including forklifts, pumps, hoses, valves, and scales.
