Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging chess lessons tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced players
  • Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship
  • Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring all students remain focused and motivated throughout sessions
  • Provide personalized tutoring to help students improve specific skills or prepare for competitions
  • Assess student progress regularly and offer constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement
  • Communicate clearly with students and parents about goals, achievements, and areas for development
  • Organize and supervise chess tournaments or club activities to build community engagement and practical experience

Skills

  • Proven experience in teaching or tutoring, especially in chess or related strategic games
  • Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline and foster a positive learning environment
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with students of diverse ages and backgrounds
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and skill levels
  • Knowledge of child development principles and experience working with children or adults in educational settings
  • Familiarity with classroom experience, including lesson planning and activity organization
  • Passion for chess combined with the ability to inspire others through clear instruction and mentorship

Pay: $24.32 - $29.29 per hour
