Duties

• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate chess instruction to students in group and individual settings
• Develop lesson plans that incorporate fundamental chess strategies, tactics, and rules
• Manage classroom behavior to create a positive and focused learning atmosphere
• Assess students’ skill levels and provide tailored guidance to support their growth
• Organize friendly competitions and tournaments to encourage practical application of skills
• Communicate progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians when appropriate
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring students in an educational setting, preferably with children or adults interested in learning chess
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate diverse learners
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts and foster engagement
• Familiarity with childcare or working with young learners is highly desirable
• Previous classroom experience or experience working with students in an educational or extracurricular context
• Passion for chess combined with the ability to inspire others through energetic instruction
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different age groups and skill levels
