This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with the Laborers Union, Local 1092– BARGAINING UNIT 53. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

The Chicago Department of Aviation is seeking a General Foreman of Constructions Laborers to function as a second level supervisor, managing and directing the work of Foremen and their staff / crews of Construction Laborers engaged in performing physically demanding labor at construction, maintenance, and repair project sites of public facilities or in the public way.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Location: 11601 W. Touhy Ave Bldg. 891, Chicago, IL 60666
Days: Monday-Friday
Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Qualifications
Operating Regulation Basic Driving test administered by the CDA within six months of hire
The candidate selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA)
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office environment
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
Exposure to hazardous conditions (e.g., construction sites, heavy machinery)
EQUIPMENT
Standard office equipment (e.g., Cell phone, telephone, printer, photocopies, fax machine)
Computers and peripheral equipment (e.g., personal computer, computer terminals, email)
Personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, shoes, glasses, gloves, safety vest)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk and bend for extended or continuous periods of time
Ability to access multi-level facilities
