Your job

Understand and become familiar with existing and new trading technologies at NBC as well as in the industry.

Be responsible for reviewing, testing, and deploying new system requirements from a technical and functional perspective.

Be responsible for day-to-day support of the systems and all components within the system.

Participate in design discussions and produce design/functional artifacts as required.

Assist in user requirement process, task breakdown, effort estimation and implementation of new software features in an incremental manner using agile methodologies

Optimize processes and improve the efficiency of the technology and surrounding support processes

Research new technologies and software solutions - out-of-the-box innovative thinkers are highly valued

Be responsible for post trade activities such as drop copies, etc.

Interact with internal partners as well as key vendors in all aspects of this role.

Documentation of all efforts for support, maintenance and reference purposes using existing tools.

You will be part of a team of 10 colleagues in the IT Delivery Capital Markets – NBCFI team, and you will report to a Senior Manager, IT Delivery – Capital Markets. Prerequisite
-
Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience on a trade floor or 7-10 years of relevant experience

7+ years working with BPS required.
-
Equities, Derivatives, FX and Post trade experience required.
-
Working experience of Cobol, SFTP, FIX, SQL, ETL's, MQ an asset.

Understanding of and practical experience supporting, optimizing and enhancing order management and book of record systems.

Understanding of, and experience with post trade applications/environments an asset.

Knowledge of industry messaging protocols an asset

Ability to work and solve problems independently.

Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel alike.

Aptitude in enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and keeping current with emerging industry trends and new technologies.

Excellent communication skills in English both spoken and written.

Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base salary range for this position is: $130,000 - $160,000 USD/year.
This position is eligible for variable compensation also.
The amounts indicated in this job offer are in U.S. dollars.
