Chief Engineer – General Cargo Vessel

Qualifications:

• Valid Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer (appropriate to engine power), endorsed for Comoros flag
• Minimum 3 years sea service as Second Engineer on general cargo or similar vessels
• Marine Engineering Degree or Diploma from a recognized maritime institution
• Valid and up-to-date mandatory certificates
• CPP (Controllable Pitch Propeller) experience preferable
• Thorough knowledge of main engine, auxiliary machinery, boilers, pumps, and electrical systems
• Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems and defect reporting
• Strong understanding of MARPOL, pollution prevention, and engine-room safety
• Familiar with ISM Code, audits, inspections, and port state control requirements
• Ability to manage engine-room crew, spares, bunkering, and maintenance budgets
• Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate and Seaman’s Book
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Previous experience on general cargo vessels preferred
