Chief Engineer - Hotel

We are looking for a Chief Engineer who will be responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of our soon to open dual-branded Hilton property. The successful candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and able to balance day-to-day repairs with long-term preventative maintenance strategies. This position is critical to ensuring guest satisfaction and the smooth operation of the hotel’s physical assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Property Maintenance: Oversee the repair and maintenance of guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities for both Home2 Suites and Tru.
  • Preventive Program: Implement and manage the preventive maintenance plan to extend the life of equipment, reduce downtime, and control costs.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage the maintenance budget, negotiate with vendors, and track expenses to optimize resources and remain cost-effective.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety, are operating in compliance with Hilton standards and local regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Act as the primary point of contact for on-call emergencies, swiftly addressing any issues to minimize impact on operations or guests.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in hotel or building maintenance; at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Capable of developing and following preventive maintenance schedules and maintaining detailed records.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of supervising and mentoring a technical team; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
