Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Corporate Controller (Mandarin Preferred)

About Us:

Headquartered in the City of Industry area, FBD Logistics is a premier, top-tier all-in-one integrated 3PL provider serving the rapidly growing new energy industry within the United States. Specializing in handling dangerous goods, including battery-based products (PPS, ESS) and solar panels, we offer expansive warehousing across 11 nationwide locations, top-tier freight forwarding services, and comprehensive after-sales support. Holding stringent ISO 9001, OSHA, and NFPA certifications, we are deeply committed to operational excellence, safety, and sustainable growth. We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and profoundly "hands-on" Chief Financial Officer to join our executive leadership team and drive our global financial strategy as we rapidly scale our operations.

Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a trusted strategic business partner to the CEO and the executive team while concurrently fulfilling the rigorous core responsibilities of a Corporate Controller. This unique leadership role requires a proactive financial executive who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, executing the month-end close, and modeling long-term strategic growth.

Crucially, the CFO will be responsible for integrating and leading a complex cross-border finance infrastructure. You will have overarching authority to unify our Accounts Receivable (AR) operations based in Taiwan and our Accounts Payable (AP) operations in the United States, thereby optimizing cash flow, accelerating working capital visibility, and mitigating foreign exchange risks across time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership & Hands-On Controllership:
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions, taking absolute ownership of the general ledger, month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes, and the issuance of timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with US GAAP and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate operational risks across our 11 nationwide facilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing accounting and finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous process improvement within the ERP ecosystem.
  • Cross-Border AR/AP Integration & Global Treasury:
  • Unify, streamline, and standardize the workflows between the Taiwan-based AR team and the US-based AP team, resolving any cross-border operational bottlenecks and establishing cohesive credit control policies.
  • Optimize cash flow generation, working capital management, and the overall cash conversion cycle.
  • Manage global treasury functions, including banking relationships, liquidity forecasting, and implementing robust FX risk management strategies to protect operating margins.
  • Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
  • Develop, build, and maintain comprehensive budgets, rolling forecasts, and complex financial models to support strategic long-term corporate planning and capital expenditure (CAPEX) decisions.
  • Implement actionable KPIs and dynamic dashboards to provide executive leadership with real-time insights into operational and financial performance.
  • Analyze shipment-level profitability, warehouse operating margins, and customer profitability to aggressively guide pricing strategies and cost-containment initiatives within our highly specialized dangerous goods logistics framework.
  • Tax Strategy, Compliance & Corporate Governance:
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and independent auditors to ensure rigorous compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax regulations.
  • Monitor and strategically respond to international tax developments, particularly leveraging the implications of the United States-Taiwan Expedited Double-Tax Relief Act, to optimize corporate tax liabilities, transfer pricing structures, and cross-border intercompany transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Certification: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline is required. An active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly preferred and will be given significant priority consideration. An MBA or CMA is a strong plus.
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and corporate finance, including at least 5 years operating in a senior financial management capacity (Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO).
  • Direct industry experience in logistics, 3PL, freight forwarding, or supply chain management is strongly preferred. Experience handling the unique financial and insurance nuances of dangerous goods or specialized warehousing is a distinct competitive advantage.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Demonstrated ability to seamlessly transition between high-level strategic FP&A and rigorous, detail-oriented controllership duties.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing cross-border financial operations and multi-national teams.
  • Deep, practical understanding of US GAAP, advanced financial modeling, and complex revenue recognition principles.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Mandarin Chinese) is strongly preferred to ensure seamless, nuanced communication with the Taiwan-based operations and international stakeholders.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset characterized by superior leadership, articulate communication, and a relentless drive for process-improvement.
