The Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer serves as the district's senior financial officer and is responsible for the leadership and administration of the district's financial operations. The position oversees budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, cash management, audit coordination, purchasing, internal controls, risk management, transportation, and related business functions in compliance with Board policy, Illinois School Code, and other applicable laws and regulations.
The Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer shall:

Lead the development, administration, monitoring, and amendment of the Evanston/Skokie District 65 annual budget, and the Evanston Districts 65 and 202 Joint Agreement (Park School) budget.

Oversee fiduciary responsibilities for the joint agreement between Evanston Districts 65 and 202 Joint Agreement (i.e., Park School), including financial administration and reporting.

Prepare financial projections, long-range financial plans, and budget reports to support district planning and decision-making.

Advise the Superintendent and Board of Education on financial matters, including cash flow management, borrowing strategies, and debt management, in collaboration with the district's financial and municipal advisors.

Serve on the district's negotiating team in matters related to its five collective bargaining units, including financial analysis, costing, and other contract-related support.

Oversee the district's accounting, general ledger, fund accounting, financial reporting, and recordkeeping functions.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Board policy, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

Oversee the coordination of the annual audit and serve as the district's primary liaison with external auditors.

Prepare and submit required financial reports and other documentation to the Board of Education, governmental agencies, and the public.

Monitor cash flow, revenues, expenditures, and internal controls to safeguard district assets and support sound fiscal management.

Oversee district procurement, including purchasing, public bidding, contract documentation, and participation in purchasing cooperatives, in compliance with law and Board policy.

Develop and maintain financial procedures, internal controls, and work processes that support accurate, efficient, and compliant operations.

Develop the annual property tax levy, related filings, and other business office functions tied to district finances and revenues.

Support grant-related financial reporting and compliance requirements.

Oversee district fee collection processes and related internal controls.

Oversee the district's fixed asset inventory and related recordkeeping.

Oversee the management of transportation services to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Supervise assigned financial services and transportation staff; establish clear expectations; evaluate performance; and support staff development and cross-training.

Provide leadership in risk management and insurance matters to reduce the district's financial and operational exposure.

Collaborate with district administrators, legal counsel, auditors, contractors, and other internal and external partners.

Attend Board meetings, committee meetings, and other district meetings as required.

Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the Superintendent.
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Chief School Business Official must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:

Masters degree in a job-related area.

Illinois Professional Educator Licensure with Chief School Business Official endorsement is required.
Experience Required:

5-10 years school business management experience required.

Experience with Infinite Visions School ERP Pro for comparable financial software is preferred.

Maintains Certificates and/or Licenses Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Pre-Placement Medical Clearance.
Terms Of Employment:
Twelve-month year (July 1 to June 30)
