Compensation Range: $150,000-$175,000

Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP seeks a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to help guide the work of our firm in a period of notable growth.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a strategic member of the firm’s executive team, responsible for leading and advancing the firm’s technology vision. In this role, you will research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to ensure the firm’s position as a technological leader in the legal sector. You will work closely with executive leadership to develop IT strategies that support the firm’s business objectives, ensuring secure, reliable, and innovative information systems for approximately three hundred staff members. The CIO reports directly to the Managing Partner of the firm. As such, the ability to synthesize strategic direction alongside firm leadership and translate that into clear and purposeful action among the team you oversee is essential.

Our firm, based in Albany, New York, is the largest and one of the most well-respected law firms in the Capital Region. We have 19 practice areas which utilize a team approach to address our clients’ needs. Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Accreditation such as CISSP, CIO, CISO, or CISA required
• 10+ years of progressive experience in information technology management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a professional services or legal environment
• Combination of relevant experience, education, and skills will be considered

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in enterprise IT systems, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies
• Proficiency with legal practice management software, document management systems, and Microsoft 365 suite
• Familiarity with network infrastructure, data privacy, and compliance requirements relevant to the legal industry
• Experience with AI and automation, specifically, implementing machine learning and generative AI to drive business value
• Expertise with data analytics and strategy to inform, enable, and accelerate business growth
• Experience in IT project management, with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
