CHIEF INSPECTOR & NDT PROG MGR

This advanced facility supports Dassault’s commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service across the Western Hemisphere. Dassault Falcon Jet in Melbourne, Florida is seeking a full-time Chief Inspector & NDT Program Administrator. This is a senior quality leadership role responsible for the oversight, administration, and execution of the Repair Station Quality System and the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Program.

JOB SUMMARY:

Acting under the direction of the MLB Quality Assurance Manager and the DFJ NDT Program Manager (Responsible Level III), the Chief Inspector & NDT Program Administrator serves as the local authority for regulatory compliance, airworthiness, inspection, and non-destructive testing activities. This position ensures adherence to applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), NAS 410 / EN 4179 standards, and Company policies, while promoting aviation safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Assurance & Chief Inspector Responsibilities

  • Serve as the local authority on all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), and company quality policies.
  • Plan, organize, staff, supervise, and control the Quality department, ensuring effective use of QA and Inspector resources.
  • Administer and continuously improve the Repair Station Quality System, including internal quality audits, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all technical data, manuals, and inspection programs are current, applicable, and properly utilized.
  • Oversee recordkeeping requirements, inspector stamps, repair station rosters, and documentation for major repairs and alterations (FAA Form 337).
  • Coordinate with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Customer Project Management to achieve on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Promote aviation safety, human factors awareness, and a zero-defect culture; enforce housekeeping standards using 5S principles.
  • Support and administer foreign certification attainment and renewal requirements as applicable.
  • Coordinate and support the Repair Station Training Program, including training needs assessments, scheduling, and maintenance of technician training records.
  • Administer the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration program.

NDT Program Administration & Inspection Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Repair Station NDT Program in accordance with NAS 410, EN 4179, and company NDT Program Manual requirements.
  • Perform and oversee Level II NDT inspections and examinations in Ultrasonic Testing, Eddy Current, and Penetrant methods, as qualified and authorized.
  • Ensure NDT tooling, equipment, calibration status, and associated documentation are maintained in compliance with program requirements.
  • Verify that FAA-acceptable or approved technical data is used to support inspection, conformity, and return-to-service determinations.
  • Support import/export airworthiness approvals and certification projects, including conformity inspections.
  • Maintain NDT proficiency, certifications, vision requirements, and audit readiness per written practice and program policies.
  • Support and coordinate audits related to quality and NDT activities as required.

Leadership, Training & Oversight

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop QA/QC and NDT inspectors, including oversight of training, qualification, documentation, and coordination of examinations with the NDT Program Manager.
  • Monitor inspector performance to ensure compliance with roles, responsibilities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assign and perform inspection and maintenance tasks within the approved work scope, ensuring quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist other employees within areas of qualification and perform related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or eligibility for FAA Repairman Certificate under FAR Part 65.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in aircraft maintenance or equivalent management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, alteration, and/or NDT inspections.
  • NDT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current (ET), and Penetrant Testing (PT) in accordance with NAS 410 or EN 4179.
  • Formal NDT training, NDT diploma, or documented military NDT experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of FAR 43, FAR 145, FAR 91 Subpart E, RSQCM/RSM, and Repair Station forms.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and determine airworthiness and return-to-service eligibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Word; basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, supervise teams, and lead with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
  • This position requires successful completion of the Melbourne Airport background check process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Falcon aircraft experience.
  • Previous experience with airframe structures and composite NDT.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Hangar, ramp, and industrial environments with variable temperatures.
  • Extended hours and directed overtime as required.
  • Occasional travel (up to approximately 10%).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • NDT Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current (ET), and Penetrant Testing (PT) in accordance with NAS 410 or EN 4179.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position typically falls between $90,900 and $125,000 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus, shift differential or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
