Chief Mechanic-Boats Engines

Engine Fitter, locates defects, repairs, and overhauls stationary petrol engines for correct performance to drive pumps, generators, propulsion shafts, etc., checks engine to locate defects. Carry out marine craft electrical fault-finding, including the use of diagnostic testing equipment. Marine engine maintenance (including all outboard motors and repairs) includes carrying out servicing and repairs to marine craft & engines. Maintaining engine performance through routine inspections and repairs, including replacing parts such as fuel injectors or spark plugs Performing diagnosis on engines to determine the cause of failure, using computer diagnostic tools such as electronic test equipment or handheld scanners. Installing, repairing, and maintaining engines and components such as cylinder heads, crankshafts, connecting rods, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, fuel injection systems, and turbochargers. Inspecting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems such as steering, braking, and cooling systems Diagnosing and repairing problems with oil, fuel, and exhaust systems Performing preventive maintenance tasks such as replacing fluids and filters, cleaning fuel injectors, and changing oil Repairing mechanical problems related to boat motors or outboard motors, including carburetors, starters, clutches, and drive shafts. Diagnosing problems with electrical systems such as starting circuits or ignition systems. Checks, adjusts, and lubricates equipment periodically and performs other operations to keep engine in good working order. Knowledge of marine hydraulic systems and related parts. Knowledge of marine engine and electrical auxiliary systems.
