The Chief of Staff, Development, will partner with our two Co-Heads of Development to help lead and coordinate a team of 30+. In this role, you'll act as the group's conductor, keeping the “trains” running on time across multiple teams through your exceptional organizational, systems-building, and project management skills. We're seeking someone with strong management experience and a proven track record of advancing multiple projects simultaneously. Prior Chief of Staff experience is helpful as is a nonprofit fundraising background, though the ideal candidate will bring both, ideally within a fast-growing organization. Above all, we need a proactive problem solver who can anticipate challenges and think several steps ahead across a variety of initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the CEO's liaison to the team by managing priorities and requests to protect their time and focus
  • Interact professionally with high-net-worth individuals and donors, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Coordinate meeting agendas to ensure timely and thorough preparation with actionable outcomes
  • Oversee all reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) for both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Collaborate with writers and foundation directors to craft compelling proposals and presentations
  • Handle approval processes for a variety of projects and documents
  • Create and modify existing SOPs for the department
  • Take the lead for onboarding new team members
  • Manage internal workflows for event success, including timeline oversight, day-of CEO coordination, and post-event tasks and follow up
  • Administrative items to include calendaring and email/slack group communication management
  • Monitor fundraising trends and developments within the nonprofit sector to inform strategy
  • Happy to work with supervisory team on any project needed, including scheduling/calendaring/coordinating with a servant leadership mindset (no job is too small)

Successful Candidates Will Possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff role and/or nonprofit fundraising with management responsibilities
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate 2nd- and 3rd-order effects when designing processes and systems
  • Proven problem-solver with an entrepreneurial drive to build and improve
  • Proficiency with fundraising CRMs and related software preferred
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to write/edit well is necessary
  • Self-starter with high ethical standards and strong alignment with our content, presenters, and worldview
  • Excellent time management skills and flexibility in handling diverse responsibilities
  • Critical thinker and collaborative team player with a strong sense of urgency
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and adapting quickly to shifting priorities
  • Builds strong relationships and works effectively with individuals at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Ability to manage up and provide strategic/vision input to executive team

Salary Range: The salary target for this role is $100,000 - $150,000+. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and most recent market data. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, in addition to our robust benefits package.
