Chief Pilot / Captain (King Air & Cessna 310) - Part 135 Charter

POSITION OVERVIEW

Patriot Air Charter is seeking a Chief Pilot / Captain to lead our Part 135 flight operations while serving asan active line pilot. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for regulatory compliance, pilotstandardization, and day-to-day flight operations. This position will primarily operate the Beechcraft King Air series and Cessna 310 aircraft in a dynamic,real-world mission environment including cargo, organ transport, AOG support, and passenger flights.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Chief Pilot Duties

* Maintain compliance with 14 CFR Part 119 & 135

* Serve as liaison with the FAA

* Oversee pilot hiring, onboarding, and training programs

* Maintain pilot records, qualifications, and currency tracking

* Standardize SOPs and ensure operational consistency

* Conduct check rides, line checks, and proficiency evaluations

* Assist with development of company manuals and procedures

* Participate in safety management and operational decision-making

Flight Operations

* Act as PIC in single-pilot Part 135 operations

* Conduct a mix of: passenger flights, cargo operations, orgran transplant flights, AOG/priority logistics,

*Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service

*Participate in on-call rotation schedule

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

*Commericial Pilot Certificate

*Meets Part 135 Chief Pilot requirements (3 years 121/135 experience in the last 6 years if first time being

a Chief Pilot)

*3000 TT minimum

*1000 Multi

*Current Second-Class Medical

*Strong knowledge of Part 135 operations and compliance

*Prior leadership or training experience preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

*Previous Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot experience

*Turbine time (King Air experience highly preferred)

*Experience in single-pilot IFR operations

*Cargo / on-demand / air ambulance experience

*Garmin avionics familiarity (G600TXi, GTN750Xi, etc.)

*Strong organizational and communication skills

SCHEDULE & LIFESTYLE

*5-on / 2-off (M-F Typically unless needed for a scheduled trip on the weekend)

*The Chief Pilot will mostly be working in the office or taking scheduled King Air / Cessna 310 flights.

Some on-call duty structure may also be required.

*Mix of day and night operations

*Home base: Huntington, IN (relocation preferred)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary Range

*$110,000 – $140,000 base salary (depending on experience)

Additional Compensation

*Can pick up additional pay for off duty trips or evening callouts
