JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for developing and leading the financial and operational strategies of a multimillion-dollar non-profit organization. This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader to manage financial health, enhance operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The CFO will collaborate closely with executive leadership to implement effective fiscal management practices, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, and ensure that financial resources are optimized to deliver high-quality services. Additionally, the CFO will be responsible for maintaining facilities and transportation resources and personnel.

CFO will participate in developing the agency's plans and programs as a key member of the Executive Team. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items affect the attraction, motivation, development, and retention of the agency's people resources. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports that will assist the president, the board of directors, and other senior managers in managing their responsibilities. Coordinate the development of the annual budget with the CEO and Executive staff in line with the guidelines of the Board of Directors, DHS, and other funders. Responsible for achieving and supporting organizational objectives as assigned in the agency’s Strategic Plan; Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of Senior Directors and other Department Managers on financial issues impacting their budgets. Communicate with staff, financial information needed to make decisions regarding program spending and program development, so that expenses remain within the approved agency budget.
