We are currently seeking a CTO - Smart Metering Programme to join our team.

Job Description

The CTO will define the technical strategy and architecture for the Smart Metering Programme, ensuring all systems-Meters, communications services, HES, MDMS, and IT components-are secure, scalable, and interoperable. The role provides strategic oversight to technical leads across delivery streams. Acting as a senior advisor, the CTO ensures technology decisions align with client objectives, programme constraints, and Talan's innovation and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Define technical vision, architecture, and standards.
• Oversee technology roadmap and system interoperability.
• Ensure cybersecurity, scalability, and resilience across platforms.
• Advise leadership on technology risks and innovation.
• Guide all technical leads (Meters, communications services, HES, MDMS, Integration, Testing).

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in smart metering or large IT transformation programmes.
• Expertise in AMI architectures, IoT, and enterprise integration.
• Strategic leadership and vendor management experience.
• Engineering or computer science background required.
