Mills Perinatal Wellness Group is a growing mental health group practice serving families across California. We are seeking a Child & Family Therapist to provide therapy for children ages 4+ as well as adolescents and adults. This position is hybrid, combining in-person sessions in the Davis area with telehealth services.
Our practice specializes in supporting individuals and families through life transitions, parenting challenges, trauma, anxiety, depression, and perinatal mental health.
This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy working with young children and caregivers while maintaining a diverse caseload of clients across the lifespan.
Position Overview
The therapist will provide therapy services to children (4+), adolescents, and adults in both in-person and telehealth formats. Clinicians will work collaboratively with caregivers when appropriate and may provide family sessions when clinically indicated. Once full time we do offer salaried positions 95k a year.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy to children ages 4+, adolescents, and adults
- Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans
- Utilize evidence-based approaches for children and families
- Provide caregiver guidance and parent sessions as appropriate
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EHR
- Participate in occasional case consultation or team meetings
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with licensing boards
Ideal Experience
We welcome therapists with experience in:
- Play therapy
- Parent coaching / parent-child interventions
- Anxiety and behavioral challenges in children
- Trauma-informed therapy
- Family systems work
- Perinatal or parenting support (not required but a plus)
- Developmental disabilities, ASD, ADHD experience
Qualifications
- Licensed in California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist)
- Experience working with children ages 4+
- Comfortable working with both children and adults
- Ability to provide in-person sessions in Davis, CA
- Telehealth capable for remote sessions
Compensation
Compensation is based on licensure and caseload.
- Licensed clinicians: $85 per session
- Once at full time: 95K salary
Weekly bonuses available for higher caseloads.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine each child's unique needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, and crisis intervention techniques to children and adolescents.
- Engage families through child & family counseling sessions, promoting effective communication, behavioral management strategies, and supportive home environments.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document patient progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and utilize CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Respond promptly to crisis situations involving at-risk youth by implementing crisis management protocols and ensuring safety.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing service delivery for children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Experience
- Proven experience providing psychotherapy or mental health counseling to children and adolescents in clinical or community settings.
- Strong background in behavioral health interventions such as behavioral therapy, play therapy modalities.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols tailored for youth populations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and documentation standards aligned with HIPAA compliance.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care needs, or special education programs is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments using diagnostic tools and clinical research methods.
